Western Saddle Optional Extras

If you're an eager rider then you're no doubt familiar with the differing kinds of saddles that one is able to get on the market, depending on what kind of riding you are most inquisitive about. For those that are ardent about western riding then it's likely that you use a western saddle and are probably already conscious of the great designs that one can get these in.

Except for those perhaps that are new to the sport, it is engaging to note that there is a maximum of fourteen part of western saddle. You will find that while most of these features are standard- like the seat, cantle, pommel, horn and stirrups- there are at least a pair of options that you should consider.

The plainest option when it comes to parts of western saddle is the skirt. This is the area of the saddle that everything rests on and many designers etch lovely designs into this part. You could get a customized saddle made and could have pretty much anything etched onto the leather. Some have their names put in and that of their horse; others like to have a kind of good luck symbol put in.

Now, the first of these is purely for decoration and it is again something that depends much on the taste of the rider. One could put a hoof pick in a pocket even but it is nice to know precisely where to search for it on the saddle should you need it in a hurry.

These optional extras are there to make the saddle more individual like you.
